Saturday Rewind: What’s your go-to?

Originally posted on September 28, 2012.

My stepdad is my go-to guy for car repairs.

My mom is my go-to person for encouragement.

My wife is my go-to person for love, friendship, and the world’s greatest chocolate chip cookies.

Her grandpa is my go-to guy to learn how to love the Lord.

Everybody is a go-to for something.

My buddy Mike is my go-to guy for all things home-improvement.

Our friends Mark and Debbie are our go-to mentors for parenting.

My friends at church are my go-to people for support and prayers.

Seth Godin is my go-to blogger/author for marketing and creative encouragement.

Go-to’s are everywhere.

Even bad ones.

There’s the go-to pessimist.

And the go-to gossip.

There’s the go-to guy who never follows through.

A neighbor of mine was a go-to conspiracy theorist.

There’s the go-to complainer.

The go-to worrier.

Of course, God is the ultimate go-to guy. He’s there for everything.

There are go-to churches.

Go-to Sunday school classes.

Go-to intercessory prayer warriors.

We all have a responsibility to share our gifts and our talents to better the world and serve the Lord.

What’s your go-to?

(Here’s a hint — if you don’t know, I bet someone else could fill in the blank.)
