This week, I’d like to offer a few easy church marketing tips for the Christmas season. These will be focused on what we can do individually to reach out to neighbors and share Christ’s love with those we might encounter as we lead up to December 25 and the New Year.
Christmas is not always a happy time for people.
There are a number of people in nursing homes and in senior centers who are lonely this time of year. Some of them have recently lost their spouses and this will be their first year without that special person.
Here’s a way you can make a difference.
Take an hour or two to visit a local nursing home and just ask to chat with some of the residents. I think you’ll find most of these facilities are open to any acts of kindness.
A simple conversation can make a world of difference for those who are lonely this time of year.
And you never know, a much-needed friendship might spark.
Look for an opportunity to pray with the people you meet.
