Smiles are infectious.
When I was in high school, I decided to conduct an experiment. I walked down the crowded hallways and smiled at random people. I can honestly say that the vast majority smiled back. Of course, some thought I was odd — and some still do — but that’s okay.
Here’s the thing.
A genuine smile, coupled with eye contact, lets people know you see them and acknowledge them. When you greet people at church, you should smile. When you see people at work, you should smile.
And if someone asks why you smile all the time, seize that opportunity to tell them about the joy that Christ has given you. A smile is a great church marketing tool.
Try it!

I love to smile at people! When I go through a fast food drive through I always try to smile at the attendants. They remember me from visit to visit and I have gotten to know a little about the people because they are more willing to talk to me.
I also remember working at a drive through for a few years and what a relief to have a customer smile. Their smile always made it easier for me to keep my smile even if the next 5 people would yell at me!
