When you’re in that “in between” time, that time of transition between the old and the new, it can be a frustrating time.
How you fill that time is important. Others are watching you.
Have you been there?
Has God given you the promise of something new and exciting? A new job? A new house? A new mission? A new outreach? Then he slams on the brakes.
STOP! and wait.
How are we supposed to fill that time?
Do we sit and stew about our current situation? Do we look forward with such anticipation that we neglect the present? Do we pack those hours with hobbies? Flip channels? Make plans?
In Acts 1, the disciples were in this situation. They’d just received their new mission from Christ — share the Gospel with the world — and then they were told to wait on the Holy Spirit. There was no timetable. Only the promise.
How did they fill that time?
“They all joined together constantly in prayer.” — Acts 1:14
And we know the rest of the story. On the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit arrived and more than 3,000 were saved in a day.
God keeps his promises. Let’s do our part by honoring him with our trust in his provision and follow the example of Acts 1:14. Let’s pray constantly. On our own and with each other.
When God tells you to wait, how do you fill that time?
Iam going to take your suggestions seriously and pray I can get over this hump But work threw another wammy at me today I Feel like I am being tested everyday
