Pray for the missing and their families

The story out of Cleveland is nothing short of miraculous.

Three women, kidnapped and missing for more than a decade, found and rescued.

While this news is exciting, it also sheds light on the fact that, for every person found, there are thousands who are not — and thousands more who will go missing.

I think of a story out of Springfield, Missouri, where three women — a mother, her teenage daughter and the daughter’s friend — went missing the same night the girls graduated high school in 1992.

Or I think of a more recent story, one that we’ve highlighted on this blog several times, about JaRay Wilson who went missing from Weatherford, Oklahoma.

JaRay Wilson has been missing from her home in Weatherford, Oklahoma since October 15. The Custer County Sheriff’s office says information they’ve uncovered shows JaRay may not have went on her own and is possibly a victim of human trafficking.

Please continue to pray.

Pray for the healing of those who were found.

Pray for the safety of those who are missing.

Pray for the families of the missing who go to bed each night with a worry and fear that we cannot fully comprehend.

Pray for law enforcement who are out looking.

Let’s rejoice about Cleveland. Let’s never forget there are more who need our prayers and our support.
