Google Analytics tells me you won’t read this post today

According to the Google Analytics report for this blog, very few people will read this post today.

Tuesdays and Thursdays are the slowest days for this blog. I don’t know why. It’s been that way since we launched. Compared to Mondays and Wednesdays, Tuesdays bring very little readership, very few people sharing the posts, few people “liking” it on Facebook, few people leaving comments, nobody subscribing, etc.

So why write anything at all on Tuesdays?

Because God gave me a vision for this project and I made a commitment to do everything in my power to write this blog five days a week. Just like your church’s doors are open every Sunday — come rain or shine and even on Super Bowl Sunday.

If you’re a pastor, do you still prepare for your sermons and give it your best even though data and history shows the crowd will be sparse one Sunday?

If you’re a worship pastor, do you hold back on the “good” and “popular” worship songs because past years’ attendance numbers show you that few people will be there to hear them this particular Sunday?

If you’re a Sunday School teacher, do you cancel class because the majority of your attendees are away for Spring Break?

No. Because you’re committed. And, as Christians, we’re called to give it our all when it comes to worshiping the Lord and being the hands and feet of Jesus.

Why?

Because we never know who’s going to be in the pew, who’s going to hear the songs, who’s going to visit the class, or who’s going to read the blog post. And we never know how God might use us to change that person’s life.

So here is a church marketing blog. On a Tuesday. A day that, according to data and trend analysis, tells me you won’t read it.

But something tells me that God is bigger than Google Analytics.
