One of the most incredible realities about being a Christian is knowing that Jesus is my friend.
Did you get that?
The King of Kings is our friend.
In John 15:15, Jesus speaks to his disciples and says:
I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.
One of the greatest gifts we can give to others is the gift of friendship. Someone who can pick them up when they’re down. Someone who can lend a helping hand. Someone who’s there to talk. And, more importantly, someone who is there to listen.
I am blessed to have friends I see each week at church and work. I’m also blessed to have those two or three “forever” friends who I see once every few years, but when I see them, we can pick up like no time has passed.
Do you have those friends?
If so, I encourage you to drop them a line this week. Send along a simple note just to let them know you’re there and always will be.
If not, don’t despair.
You must always remember that, as a Christian, you have the ultimate Best Friend — Jesus Christ. He’s there to guide you, listen to you, love you unconditionally, and advocate for you.
Thank you for reminding me to get in touch with an old friend. I will get with her and we will act like it was yesterday and it has been at least 4 years
It’s good to have those friends!
